Splash of Color: Watercolor Painting for Beginners to Intermediate

Discover the joy of watercolor painting in a relaxed, hands-on environment that encourages your artistic expression. Learn foundational techniques such as selecting and caring for watercolor supplies, color theory, and mixing for vibrant, harmonious results; composition basics, and how to conceptualize a painting. Explore your creativity through step-by-step guidance and hands-on practice with personal feedback in a supportive environment. By the end of the class, students will have created a small portfolio of finished works and gained the confidence to continue exploring watercolor on their own. No prior experience required; all skill levels are welcome. Unleash your creativity and bring your ideas to life with the vibrant, fluid beauty of watercolors!
A materials fee of $20 per person is due and payable to the instructor on the first day of the class unless you bring your own paints, brushes, and palette. Please bring paper towels, a ruler, a pencil, a water container (e.g., Cool Whip container), a few tissues, and painter's tape to class.

This tour takes in the best of Pittsburgh! We’re heading to Pittsburgh, PA, for a SIGHTSEEING cruise on the Three Rivers aboard the GATEWAY CLIPPER. The only way to see the City and truly learn about its past, present, and future is aboard this Pittsburgh river cruise. Your tour begins on the Monongahela River and continues on both the Allegheny and Ohio Rivers, all while our captain and narrator relay the interesting facts, tales, and river lore that make Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania so special! Following our cruise, we’re off to THE GRAND CONCOURSE FOR LUNCH. This afternoon, we will visit THE STRIP PITTSBURGH. Don't be fooled by the name. The Strip, as it's called, is foodie heaven and as authentic as it comes. Locals love it for its low, low prices and tremendous selections. The one and a half square mile shopping district is chock full of ethnic grocers, produce stands, meat and fish markets and sidewalk vendors.
