Holiday Baking: Yule Log (Bûche de Noël) Workshop

Celebrate the season with a hands-on Yule Log (Bûche de Noël) Class, where you’ll learn to create this stunning and festive holiday dessert from scratch. In this interactive experience, participants will be guided through baking a light, flexible sponge cake, mastering the rolling technique, and preparing a rich, flavorful filling. You’ll also learn how to frost and decorate your cake to resemble a traditional holiday log, complete with creative finishes like textured “bark,” powdered sugar “snow,” and seasonal accents. Along the way, we’ll share helpful baking tips and decorating techniques to ensure your dessert looks as impressive as it tastes. Perfect for bakers of all skill levels, this class offers a fun and festive atmosphere—and you’ll leave with a beautiful Yule log to share (or enjoy yourself!).

A materials fee of $20 is due to the instructor on the day of class.

Our 2nd Annual Adult PE Class returns this winter.  Designed for fun, fitness, and friendship, our low-impact program brings back the high-energy excitement you loved last season. Rotate through engaging units, including volleyball, table tennis, badminton, pickleball, and archery — all in a supportive, indoor setting perfect for the colder months. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned player, every session emphasizes enjoyment over intensity. All adult age groups are welcome! Come move, laugh, and stay active with a great community. Register today and make this your healthiest, most fun winter yet!

Please wear sneakers, comfortable workout clothing, and bring a water bottle and a good attitude to class! The class will not meet on 12/23/26 or 12/30/26.

Crystal Beaded Ornament Workshop

Craft an elegant and dazzling holiday decoration in this Crystal Beaded Ornament Workshop! Using large crystal beads, participants will learn how to create a beautiful 3D ornament that sparkles from every angle. While the project is considered intermediate level, the larger beads make the process easier to follow, making it a great opportunity to challenge yourself while creating something truly stunning. This sparkling decoration is a showstopper and a must-have for any holiday tree. All supplies are provided—just bring your creativity and holiday spirit!

All trips will leave from the Eastern Hills Mall, 4545 Transit Road, Williamsville, 14221 (EH). Park in the rear of the mall near the food court entrance - halfway back in the lot.

We’re off to Erie, PA. Let’s finish our holiday shopping at the Millcreek Mall for a chance to purchase some holiday or last-minute host gifts. The Millcreek Mall features over 100 stores, including a discount department store, BOSCOV’S, and offers a festive Christmas shopping experience with seasonal stores like Spirit Christmas, featuring holiday décor and Christmas treasures, providing a variety of holiday gifts and decorations. Next, we’re off to a 2:30 p.m. Christmas comedy show at The Station Dinner Theater, for  “CHRISTMAS MEMORIES.”  Start your holiday season off right with this heart-warming musical in which the true meaning of Christmas is always celebrated.  Join the Holiday Harmony Singers in the 35th Annual holiday show, which is sure to get even “Scrooge” in the holiday spirit!  An early family-style delicious dinner is served throughout the 2:30 p.m. performance by the entertainment. The Station Dinner Theater is a unique entertainment venue offering live performances alongside a meal experience, housed in a long-standing, charming train station-themed setting. The Station Dinner Theater’s family-style meal service is a key part of the experience, adding to the cozy, communal atmosphere. The food is served in large buckets or platters that are brought directly to the tables, much like a family gathering at home. Each table receives generous portions of food in shared containers, and guests pass the buckets or platters around the table, serving themselves as they wish. Be prepared for a fun time with lots of laughs. It’s sure to be a fun-filled holiday excursion.

Dickens Christmas, a holiday tradition, is celebrated each year in Skaneateles, NY. Charles Dickens and his cast of characters welcome you to the annual Dickens Festival. Step back in time and celebrate the holidays the old-fashioned way at the Dickens Christmas Festival. Enjoy the decorated village, carolers, street theater, roasted chestnuts & hot chocolate. The street performances entertain throughout the day, and there’s plenty of shopping for those perfect holiday gifts at the over 70 unique gift shops, boutiques, and eateries. We will be at the festival from noon to 4 pm. Those who like to preplan can visit www.skaneateles.com for further information.  Following the festivities, we will travel a short distance to Spring Side Inn, an Auburn favorite.  Enjoy a plated sit-down dinner included at this historic inn, located on the North end of Owasco Lake.  Dress for the weather.

Handmade Holiday Sweets: Sponge Candy Class

You will receive step-by-step instructions on making sponge candy and tips for achieving the ideal texture and flavor. Take home your delicious creations to share with family and friends—or enjoy them yourself! Perfect for beginners and candy lovers alike. 

Bring: An apron, a box to take your candy home in, and your sweet holiday spirit!

Travel from the Buffalo area to Niagara Falls, ON, to the Greg Frewin Theatrical Center. Upon arrival, we will be greeted with an extensive included buffet lunch. After the entrees are cleared, get ready to tap our feet to the sounds of the King and the Fab Four as we enjoy "The Beatles Meet Elvis." “Two of the greatest icons in music history come together in one incredible tribute experience. This class guides you through the full publishing process, including how to find traditional publishers, explore self-publishing options, format your book, and design a professional cover.

You’ll also learn how to produce printed copies for personal use or distribution, and understand how published authors build visibility and opportunities such as speaking engagements and royalties.

Instructor Preethi Fernando, author of 15 published books and recipient of Stephen King’s Haven Foundation Award, shares practical industry insight from her publishing experience.

This class is ideal for seniors, retirees, working professionals, and lifelong learners interested in the publishing process and bringing their completed work to life.  Please note: this is not a writing instruction class.
